Topic: site will not add!

I have a simple HTML site that will not add to the SimpleCMS system. I get a "Hmm, it looks like this page is taking longer than expected to load. I have tried several times... and it works fine with the same criteria with my FTP client, as well as the built-in FTP in Panic Coda.

I will also get this message when I leave the "www" out of the URL: "The system has tried to guess the name of your index page but it looks like it may have been changed. Please specify it at the end of your URL."   Adding "index.html" does not help

Thank you, everyone, for your patience whilst we experienced these problems.

On a positive note, the beauty of a system like SimpleCMS, is that if and when something fails at our end, your clients' sites are not affected at all. Granted, it's not ideal that your clients cannot edit their sites through the system and would have to contact you to make changes via FTP, etc. but the sites do remain online and fully functioning.

We hope you will continue to use the system and know that when something like this happens, we will do our best to ensure that there is a minimum amount of disruption for both you and your customers.

Thank you again for your patience while we sorted this issue and we intend to keep these to a minimum (if at all) for obvious reasons.

This problem still there.  I tred to add my site several times and get this massage everytime,

"The system has tried to guess the name of your index page but it looks like it may have been changed. Please specify it at the end of your URL."

Please let me know what I have to do?

I just tried to add a site again... and I am getting the same error. I have even reset all FTP access.

can I send the FTP info to you to retry? I would love to use this system!

I'm trying out SimpleCMS but I get the 'can't guess the site name' problem. My site has a .co.uk extension. Strangely, it does work with a .com extension. My 30 days is counting down now...

How can I demonstrate SimpleCMS to my UK client!

Hi David, we're in the UK too - it shouldn't be an issue with the domain name suffix.

Could you email us with the details and we can try and add it from our end? We will also extend your account, so no worries about going over the 30 days.
