I figured this out. Thank you for your quick response. I was using the paid version of lightbox, which creates a thumbnail that looks a certain way. I misunderstood, and thought that is was being controlled by the stylesheet. Apologies for the confusion.

Is there any way of having a image editor without the add/remove an image option and without using Lightbox, so it's just a normal image?

I'm very happy with the gallery editor! There's only one thing that's bothering me.
As you said before, there might would come an option for editing the full-size image so its size doesn't depend on the copied image. Are you working on that? I would love my customers to be able to edit the size of the new pic.
