Topic: Compatible with Codeigniter Site

Hi There,

I'm interested in testing this out with a site built on codeigniter. I've tried to use pagelime with a codeigniter site in the past, but was unsuccessful because of the way that pagelime looks for an index page when setting up a website and in a codeigniter site, you don't actually edit an index page.

Has anyone succsesfully integrated simpleCMS with a website built on codeigniter?

Thanks,
-Tom

Re: Compatible with Codeigniter Site

Hi Tom, unfortunately SimpleCMS isn't compatible with sites built on codeigniter or any other framework.

SimpleCMS can only edit static pages. It looks for static pages on your FTP server based on the URL of a web page. I believe this is the case for PageLime and other content management systems of this nature.

SimpleCMS will try to find a folder on your FTP server called "about" once it has found this folder it will look for a file called "index.html" inside the "about" folder. If you are using a framework, where static pages don't exist, then the system won't find the "about" folder or the "index.html" file on the FTP server so it would produce an error.

We hope to offer a solution to this soon - next year perhaps.

I hope to see this implemented in the future. Thanks for the answer.
