Hi Simon, are you guys working on this as we speak?  Its suddenly started picking up these includes now:
<?php include($_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'].'/inc/header.php'); ?>

Its not saving the published changes yet, but it is letting me edit the include section?  : )

Very happy with simpleCMS, but creating links internally around a website is actually quite tricky.  The user really needs to have 2 copies of the website open just to be able to copy/paste the URL for linking pages together.

When adding/editing any type of hyperlink an option to select a page from the sitemap would be perfect for this.  This is one of the only areas for me that simpleCMS falls short of others.

Ok, thanks for that answer.  Any suggestions for how you would you manage include files in a website that has pages in multiple directories?  Or is the answer just not give them access to edit includes?

I ask because im currently using both SimpleCMS and SurrealCMS and im trying to way up which is best for a new project.  Iv had a few sleepless nights over it and taken a week drawing up a comparison chart of functionality (you might find of interest).   Surreal works on relative paths as well but is happy with those type of include.  They have improved dramatically in the last couple of months, but you'll be happy to hear, I think you guys still have the edge.

Thanks Simon,

Im not using a sitemap just yet, and im not linking to all pages from the homepage.  However, the system is picking up every page within the website (apart from the index files in directories).  Hmm.  Do you basically always recommend have a sitemap?

What happen when new pages are created by the system, are they added to simpleCMS's own sitemap?

Hi there,

when adding/cloning a page, none of the index.php files are appearing within directories (apart from the homepage) . All other pages are there just not the index.php files?

Does there need to be a sitemap.xml defined for this to work?  What is the purpose of the sitemap?

This is affecting the Scuba Travel website.  Seems to be ok on all my other websites.

Hi Simon, is there a reason why this won't work using the SimpleCMS system:

<?php include($_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'].'/inc/header.php'); ?>

I use this method because it references the file from the root of the server, therefore wherever the page exists, the include link is correct.  I can get your method to work, but this is only a relative link.  Another CMS I use is fine with these, any suggestions?

I have changed the permissions for my users, but the copy page tab is not appearing within the CMS.  Is there any reason why this could be?
