Hi Mark, I've just checked your site and I can see you're using SHTML with include files. We currently only support PHP include files. This is why the elements in the header aren't editable as they are inside the included file.

Unfortunately, there's no quick fix for this. You can put the contents of your header into every page so they no longer use includes. Or you can convert your site to PHP and use PHP includes. Or hold out a little longer and we will integrate this feature into the system. I imagine we can have this feature ready within the next month.

When you have the editor open, you need to right click inside the table and a menu will appear that lets you change the table's properties.

Hi Mike, id you putt a DIV inside the form it doesn't add the space, e.g.

<form ...>
     <div>
          <input ... />
     </div>
</form>

Hi David, you can't make UL / OL elements editable. You can now make LI elements editable. If you want your users to edit the full list then you could wrap a DIV around the UL / OL and make the DIV editable.

Hope that makes sense.

Hi Greg, I've checked your account and noticed the Site URL that was in the system had /index.asp on the end of it. That's why SimpleCMS wants you to find your index.asp page on your FTP server.

I have updated the Site URL to /home.php - as I couldn't see an index.php page on your FTP server.

Hi Cliff, I've just logged in and the sitemap loaded a list of pages for me. Is it working ok for you now?

You can upload your own sitemap which you have complete control over. For more information see this link:

Hi John, which site are you having problems with? Feel free to email the details to us.

Try changing the file permissions to 777 to see if it works then.

Hi Brian, that error message will appear if you enter in the wrong FTP username and FTP password. The best thing to do is enter the same details into your FTP client as well as into SimpleCMS - this way you can check that you have entered the same details.

That error message may also appear if your FTP server restricts access by IP. From what you've said it doesn't sound like this is the case.

If you're still having problems, feel free to email us your Site URL and FTP details and we'll take a look for you.

Hi Harry, did you put the full URL, e.g. http://www.example.com/sitemap.xml

I have added the sitemap to your account for you, but could you double check it.

Great stuff. Let us know if you have anymore questions.

Hi John, the Add page section will use the Sitemap to display a list of pages that you may copy. By default SimpleCMS will crawl your site and generate a list of links. It will only find pages that are linked to from your website's home page. So if you haven't linked to a page it won't find it.

You can add your own sitemap to SimpleCMS instead. For more information see this page:
http://smplc.ms/xmlsitemap

I hope this helps.

Hi Alomloalf - please clarify any problems or questions you have. "Certainly is not present" doesn't help us much.

To add to what Gavin has said, you can also setup automated backups with your web host provider.

Hi Ed, I think you're referring to SSI (server side include). We currently support editing of PHP include files. You can find more information on this here:

Hi Ian, if you are using the WYSIWYG editor then you can click on the image in the editor and then click on the link icon.

If you are using the image editor then you will need to enable editing of links for images. You can do this here:
Account > My account > Edit image links

You can also enable this for your clients here:
Users> Permissions > User settings > Edit image links

Hi Mitch, the system doesn't support editing of both images yet. We do have this planned for the future. I can think of a few situations where this would be helpful.
